Anyone backed up T2 Ultimate Edition region1 yet...

I've been trying to backup Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition region1 (I'm attempting to create a DVD-R backup of only the theatrical release). I ripped the full disc to the HD with DVD Decrypter and then I stripped (and demuxed) the theatrical release from this full version (I used Smart Ripper for this second rip). I reencoded the resulting video stream (using CCE) to fit on DVD-R and remuxed back into a new DVD. However, in the resulting VTS title sets I keep getting a audio sync problem that gets progressively worse near the end (the sync is perfect starting at the beginning but slowly gets progressively worse). Just to be sure that the source audio and video were in sync I opened the original ripped disc with IfoEdit (0.95) and stripped out all but PGC1 (the main movie theatrical release) to a new set of IFOs (movie only now). The IfoEdit stripped version played just fine with no audio sync problems (but still won't fit on a DVD-R). Just to go a step further to ensure A/V sync I demuxed the working (i.e. A/V sync ok) IfoEdit stripped DVD and remuxed it. But the remux resulted in out of sync A/V. I do not know how that could be. I know that this disc employs seamless branching but shouldn't smart ripper handle that with no probs. I wouldn't say I'm a newbie at this stuff but I am also not an expert. Is there any who's successfully backed up this title (with no A/V sync problems). If so, please tell me your method. Thanks in advance!

1. DVD Decrypter demux resulting in m2v and ac3 files.

2. DVD2AVI forced film frame rate then VFAPI convert.

3. CCE multipass.

4. 2:3 pull down and authored on Spruce Maestro.

5. Damn good backup:)

i think the Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition has multiple angles, which might be the problem.

auenf is right, try watching the resulting video, you'll see repeated scenes and macroblocks on scene changes.

make sure to tell dvd-decrypter to retain angle 1 or strip the extra angles in ifoedit.

I ripped this dvd without any problems
I chose to rip the Unedited Directors cut with the alternate ending
i did the following:
- ripped the DVD with DVDDecryter in IFO Mode to select the PGC of choice
- then in File Mode copied both the Video_TS.IFO and .bup into the same folder
- IFOEdit to fix the structure
- DVD2AVI to create the .d2v and .ac3 files
- ac3delay to fix the .ac3 delay
- CCE to transcode to a .m2v file
- DVDMaestro to author
- and burn with Prassi Primo:devil:

I trying to backup this one too with DTS though and without encoding the video.

I decrpyted the dvd to hdd movie only using dvd-decrypter.
I used ifoedit to strip the vobs and split it in half for 2 dvds but when I do that I have to create new ifo video_ts.ifo when I do that and burn to dvd works good with DTS track but then later on get errors were it will be stuck looping on a frame or so.

When I try to demux the video using vobdecoder it only seems to give me a uncomplete m2v file and I have no idea how to get the DTS into a .dts file for audio.
