Halloween R2 DVD ? How to work with this movie ?

Hi all.

I am trying to rip Halloween Region 2 DVD. When running SmartRipper, it came up with a message saying that "some of the files are still locked, use a DVD player to unlock them". I used Power DVD and let it run for a couple seconds, I hit pause and i tried to run Smart Ripper but I still got the same message. I chose Ignore and I ripped the movie normally (I don't know if I will face any problems later because of hitting Ignore). Anyways, I loaded the vob files into DVD2AVI and hit F5 (Preview) just to find out that the FrameRate was 29.97 fps and that Frame Type is constantly changing between Interlaced and Progressive. Also, after running the preview for 10 minutes, it says that the Video Type is FILM 98% (although in the first 3 minutes it was below 93%).

Also, it looks like the picture is Interlaced. I haven't ripped any movie similar to this so I was wondering if anyone has successfully ripped this movie, perhaps he could give me some tips ?

I remind you again that it's the Region 2 DVD of Halloween.

Have you successfully ripped that movie ? If yes, please share some of the tips with me cause I've never worked with such a weird DVD before.

You can try using DVDCutter, a great multimedia ripper and editor. Go to http://www.zdnet.com where you can search for it, it's easy.
