That can build motion menus and sounds
That can have PiP
That able to import some subtitles (like SSA)
That directly burn to DVD

I use Pinnacle but it sucks.

The granddaddy of all authoring packages is Scenarist, followed by Maestro. They aren't capture, effects, or editing packages (there is a lot of confusion there for some folks) -- they are strictly DVD Authoring.

Also, don't expect them to be easy to use (especially Scenarist). They are specifically aimed at the professional video crowd.

scen and maestro are all well and good for people who want to do lots, but something that (i think) does what you listed, and ive heard good things about from a friend is Ulead DVD Workshop. altho i have not even touched it from a distance.

Scenarist and Maestro are THE dvd authoring softwares , and unforuntuly their prices reflect this ...
the proble i have with workshop is that fact that you really cannot do anything with it that is not part of the built in templates.
if you want simple dvd format .. their is iAuthor , DVDit , and DVD wise (and jr) ... but i would puth them on the bottom of a list of programs to use .. of course they are also on the bottom of the price list.

edited cause i spell like crap

Just wondering if any tutorial of maestro around...

You'll enjoy using Maestro - it's a lot easier to use than
Scenarist. I make my animated menus with both
Adobe After Effects 5.5 Production and Photoshop 7.
I like the fact that you can make invisible buttons
(for those who's interested in making easter eggs.)
