Best Software for Muxing .m2v and .ac3

Hi,

After using Soft Encode to generate ac3 , and TMPGEnc for generating m2v , I tried muxing with TMPGEnc, but had synch problems.
Is there a better software option for muxing my audio and video streams ?

Hi,

I just wanted a software to mux video (m2v) and audio (ac3) and have a finished mpeg2.
I would not like to change my DVD authoring software.
I am presently using DVD Workshop. Version 1.3 (the latest) allows using of elementary streams, so it would be perfect for my problem, BUT version 1.3 also introduced some bugs that earlier versions did not have.
So, I would like to mux before going into DVDWS authoring phase.

Well, DVD Workshop will NOT accept AC3 audio stream.

As I don't pretend to change my DVD authoring software, I would appreciate suggestions on software for multiplexing my video stream (.m2v) and my audio stream (AC3), generating a complete MPEG2 video stream.

I too use SoftEncode to create .ac3 files and use cce to create my .m2v files - i never had any sync problems with DVDMaestro.

You may also want to check out SpruceUp - unfortunetly its not available anymore. :angry:

The problem is most likely not in the authoring process but in the transcoding. I've never gotten a good sync from tmpgenc. you may want to try transcoding using rempeg. its free and you can get it right here. The quality at lower bit rates is not as good as tmpgenc but the audio is always in sync.

Transcoding can easily be done with TMPGEnc. Use IfoEdit v0.88 to get the 'I' frames, encode with TMPGEnc and use IfoEdit v0.95 to remux.

As an update to my previous post. I switched from tmpgenc to cce (Cinema craft encoder) to do my encoding using the guide located here http://www.doom9.org/mpg/cce-advanced.htm. The results were remarkable. The audio was perfectly in sync. I got perfect quality with a much lower bit rate and the encode time was cut in half as compared to tmpgenc. I tried cce on 3 movies that had the worst audio problems and the results with cce were consistant. All came out perfect.
