Now that I have a DVD burner, I'm more concerned about producing "correct" and compatible discs, so I've been reevaluating all my procedures, and moving to Scenarist for authoring. I've been through the Scenarist manual twice, and I'm working on my third time through. I have some questions that are not covered there (that I can find.):
Is there a "cheat sheet" for all the abbreviations, for example "VMG = Video Manager", "VOB = Video Object", "PGC = Program Chain", "SPRM = System Parameter", "GPRM = General Parameter", ect.? This confuses me the most! I think 75% of my problem in learning Scenarist is they constantly are switching between the full name and it's abbreviation, making it hard to understand they are referring to the same thing!
In AC3Enc (included with Scenarist,) I'm looking for a guide that explains how to properly use the Dialog Normalization, Audio Production Info, and Dynamic Range Compression settings.
In Scenarist, why are video encoded as M=5 N/M=5 (/IBBPBBPBBPBBPBB) rejected, but M=5 N/M=4 (/IBBPBBPBBPBB)is OK?
In Scenarist, how does the VMG (Video Manager) differ from a normal VTS (Video Title Set)? From the description in the manual, are exactly the same, so why have a VMG at all?
In Scenarist, what is the purpose of adding a Language Folder?
