Audio problems

I am very near completing my first DVD2DVD-r, but have 1 last problem.I used DVD2AVI then TMPGenc to encode the movie.Then I used IFOedit to author the new DVD no problems.When I came to burn it I got a message DVD-video files relocation failed the DVD may not be playable as I am experimenting I burned it anyway(nero 5.5.9.17) the video file was okay but the audio was out of sync,muffled,crackley etc...
Can anyone please help me complete my first DVD?
