ok.. here's a strange one and how I got around it.. I'm just not sure HOW I got around it and why what I did worked.

our patient...

single dual-layer disc, NTSC R2 FOX
5 titles on the disc

Title 1 - the main movie
Title 2 - Fox Home Video notice
Title 3 - Feature Shorts #1
Title 4 - Feature Shorts #2
Title 5 - Feature Shorts #3

goal- maintain the WHOLE DISC, subs, languages, menus and extras.

Surgery...

REMPEG2 titles 3,4 and 5 to lower the bitrate and half D1 (352x480).
IFOEDIT and REMUX the video back in.
Yes, do a GET Sectors on everything.
Reassemble VIDEO_TS folder, test in IFOEDIT PLAYER. Works perfectly
all menus, all programs, all all...
Test again with WINDVD playing folder. Ditto. Perfect rip and
35mb to spare on the disc.

Burn VIDEO_TS folder with Primo.
Stick in Standalone Player.
opening, fine.
play movie fine.
return to menu, select Feature Menu #1.
Get Feature Menu #2.
Return to main, select Feature Menu #2
Get Feature Menu #2.
Return to main, select Feature Menu #3
Player lockup.

Put disc in PC, load up WinDVD. Repeat above.
When you get to #3, lockup/crash.

Hmmm...

Load VIDEO_TS.IFO from the disc in IFOEDIT. Play with IFOEDIT DVD
Player select #3 'Illegal Navigation Command'.

Hmmm...

Reload VIDEO_TS.IFO from disc, Get Sectors again (remember this
was done before the folder was burned).

IT WANTS TO RECORRECT AGAIN??!?

WTF?

Go back to VIDEO_TS folder, attempt to recorrect pointers. They
show as all correct. Figure bad burn. Reburn VIDEO_TS folder.

same as above.

reload ALL ORIGINAL FILES. Go thru the entire process again.
Making SURE that I have all 'correct' boxes checked and sectors corrected.

New VIDEO_TS folder, test as before, perfect.
Burn as before, funked up and crashes.

begin to get annyoed.

Rip the 'bad' disc back to HD. Load IFO edit, get sectors.
NOTHING CHANGED?!?!?! NOTHING CORRECTED???

Rip it again to a new folder. Attempt to play with WINDVD.
PLAYS PERFECTLY!?!?!

W*T*F????

use IMGTOOL and make image of the first VIDEO_TS folder.
Don't change anything.
Burn.
PERFECT?

now losing what little mind I have left.

move VIDEO_TS folder to different partition. (why? wait..)
burn with Primo from that folder
Perfect.

the difference? original partition 20gb NTFS.
partition I moved it to? 20gb FAT32.

was it the NTFS/FAT32 difference? if not, WTF changed?
