How to disable DivX post-decoding filters completely

Im sorry that this is, in fact, not related to DivX5 encoding too much, as i care about decoding there ;) :D

Can anyone help me with a little tip, how to disable the "smoothing" into DivX, 5.0.2, named "quality"...?
In fact, i never like it. But things becoming worse, when i get used to DVDs and learned, how to get maximum picture quality out of my GFX card and monitor, and now i cant watch the overblurred DivX movies!
Im depressed.
Even when i move the "quality" slider to zero, there is still blurring done. At least a level 2...!
Well, its probably something "agains the dummies", who turn this off and watch then the movie SCALED on fullscreen - and then complain about jagged edges... The fact is, that they must use the switch fullscreen to option into BSplayer to get the quality out of their movie W/O any resize at all, but the question undubtely stand:

(it might be essential for old slow computers as well!)
And no, setting the quality to zero realy do NOT help, as i actually have the "quality" moved to minimum - i want more deeply hit the ugly DivX smoothering code...

Into v3.11 this can be made by deleting one of the dlls, and slight change into the registers.

Any similar trick for DivX 5.0.2 ...?

You might try ffdshow (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/ffdshow-20020923.exe) for decoding DivX5 content and see if you like it better.

manono, and are you 100% sure, that they allow me to disable the annoing blurring...? I would like to try, but... Im affraid it dont help and can screw things up... :(

Even when i disabled every the postprocessing, the result is stull way diferent from what i saw.

Let me explain this - what i saw is as clear and beautifull and sharp picture, that even the WB logo at the strt of Queen of Damned looks like an angel and - thats the key for understanding/testing this - it looks extremly terrible, when its scalled on fullscreen!!!

Thats how anyone can see, that there is NO filtering at all.

BTW, i tried the reference IDCT decoding and hell - :mad:
It looks like 1Ghz P3 is out of the question, when come to that!
I get about 5-6fps, hardly :( :p

Ah, and i discovered quite an interesting bug, with FFD show! When i try set the NORMAL IDCT decoding, instead of the simple one, all works perfectly, well, except ASF files!
They looked like being wattercolored and continualy sprayed down! :p ;) :D

In fact, its quite interesting bug, try it for yourself, everyone, its nice :D :D :D

So you got the problem solved for the DivX5 movies? Good, and installing it doesn't mess anything up. If you don't want to use it for ASF or DivX5 or anything else, just uncheck the right boxes. And that's one of the good things about it-it's so configurable.

No no, the problem is NOT solved - theres still postfiltering od the resulting video, no matter is the postfiltering is disabled...
Its just lie.
But i can contact the autor and... hope for answer.

But in fact, i strt like FFD show and except this little bug - its perfect and so-so configurable too.
Everyone should give it a try. I using if for playing everything it support. :D :) ;)
