Alright! I finally found a solution for my geforce (i've been trying for months...). I've got perfect tv-out now, that is without black bars or sync errors :).
I suppose this'll work for everybody with a Geforce 4 and a Conexant tv-chip. Furthermore i have Windows 2000 and 30.82 detonator drivers and you must have a tv which supports NTSC (unfortunately PAL does not work).

Here goes:

- First you have to add 720x480 resolution to Windows cause this is the only resolution which will not show black bars. You can do this with Powerstrip. (http://www.entechtaiwan.com/)
After you add it, you have to restart your computer.

- After restarting, enable nView by choosing Clone. Tv format should be NTSC-M. Your tv should show an image now.
Change the resolution to 720x480. It is possible that you still have black bars at this moment. Change the resolution to 800x600. And back to 720x480. Suprise, the Black bars are gone!

- Everything seems to work alright now, except for movies. Hardware overlay does not work properly. You notice that it is not v-synced. :sly:
Disabling your monitor is the solution for this. So go back to the nView tab and make the tv your primairy display. Then disable nView. Your monitor will turn off now, and only your tv is displaying.

Now your movies should look great on your TV... :)

old news really.....
i have vintage tnt2+bt tvout chip and untill i go to
768x576 (pal) there's a black bar on right side of the
tv screen.....
also 768x576 is more close to the tv image dimensions
(800x600 has less overscan ie. image is smaller)

i too use detonator30.82 (hmm i wonder why i didn't dloaded
latest detonators...hmmmm)

it's just the thing of the modified drivers (dloadable from tvtool site)
which add support for 768x576 (pal) & 720x480 (ntsc)

use these resolutions with tvtool (only slight modification to .inf file (of detonator) gets you there) and no black bars should appear...

The "only" difference is that i don't use the expensive TVtool or the modified drivers for it.
