What I am looking for is a source to source item of software, it copies your DVD5 or 9 DVD and then puts the footage on to either 1 DVD-R or 2 depending on what you choose. If you choose 1 then it re-encodes all the data just enough to fit for 4.7gb or if you prefer no data loss then it allows it over 2 discs. Also an option for NTSC to PAL convertion and vice versa. Is there such an item of software ? I am talking a 1 click solution here. At the moment I have to use about 5 different applications. I don't mind if you suggest expensive software.

Also what is the best 1 click solution software for DVD-R to DVD-R ?

Your solution is DVDxcopy. Maybe it is crap or else but it will copy your dvd9 to 2 dvd5's wit one click without any hassle.
But I'd like you to do a search or read some entry here so I won't give you the address.
(Yes, it is expensive btw.)

what would be really nice is a version of dvd2svcd that worked with ifoedit / cce ... their are acctualy alot less steps in dvd9 -> dvd5 then dvd -> svcd ... but unfourtunly dvd menus , chapter points , and the slew of other variables does make it a rather daunting task ... but i belive it could be done ....

The closest thing to date is DVD2DVDR at www.dvd2dvd-r.de. You are right, with all that talent out there they couldn't get togather and create what you are looking for.

The best DVD-R to DVD-R solution is Nero(5.5.8.2), using the copy option. Or, if it's encrypted, do a backup first to your hard drive with smartripper, then burn to dvd-r.
