You can only download if you are a registered member.

Click the link in the upper left "Anmelden", in the next window click on "Neuen Benutzer anmelden", type your name and EMail and register... then it should be possible to download...

Greets, CouJo!

dvd > dvd? Does it just make a disc to disc copy (removing CSS) and re-encodes to the desired bitrate? If you have a DVD9 to fit it on a DVD-R with the original menus and just with a click of a button. Is that what it does? If yes, I'd love to try it out!

Sorry to burst you bubble
But this program still uses CCE and some of your favorites progys.
This progry work's like DVD2SVCD (far as I know) but more people may give you a better inside; I had seen
the program but never used it. :sly:

I Tried DVD2DVD-R version 1.0.2 and I must it works very well if your are only interested in the Video itself with one or more audio stream and one or more subtitles.

What do you need:
DVD2DVD-R
IFOEDIT 0.95
CCE 2.5 (in case the video-file needs to be reencoded in order to fit on one DVD±R(W) disk)

Quick overview how it works:
1) Insert DVD
2) Select video stream, audio stream(s) and subtitle(s)
3) If total selection fits on 1 DVD±R(W) it start copying the files (including chapter points) to your HD otherwise it will reencode the video in order to fit on one disc.
4) After copying start IFOEDIT and select Video, audio and subtitle screen(s). IFOEDIT will create new vob files.
5) Burn created vob files with a DVD-burner program

In my experience it works very well although you need to do some manual steps in IFOEDIT. But the included manual (if found only the German version) contains a lot of pictures and all the steps are explained very well.

Yesterday (6-12-2002) I still could access the website but today I also got access forbidden.

DVD2DVD-R 1.3.2

It still works, it calculates everything for you, and you can still do it yourself if you want to tweak the whole thing manual, but what i get is good enough after 3 or 4 passes :)

For those who want the latest one, here's a link i made:

ftp://195.11.216.236/woei/dvd2dvdr/dvd2dvdr1.3.2.rar

and the verification file:

ftp://195.11.216.236/woei/dvd2dvdr/dvd2dvdr1.3.2.sfv

It's kinda slow but it'll work.. Just have some patience :)

Just fired up 1.3.1 and boy is that thing slow at ripping, something like x0.2 and it doesn't seem to be doing anything else (i.e. reencoding for instance)! Too bad because any idiot can rip a DVD, that's not the hard part!

The other problem I see is that unlike in DVD2SVCD there's no "backtrack" feature that would let you start again in case of a problem.

I've just seen a guide to do DVDs with DVD2SVCD so it might be a better solution.

You will get better results with DVD2SVCD because you are familiar with it, so stick to it.
About the ripping issue: remember that once we where all idiots and we probablly still are on some areas! :D

yes although the DVD2SVCD solution requires reauthoring with Spruce Up and doesn't have subtitles :-(

what I meant by the comment about ripping is that it's a bit silly to force you to rip the movie from the DVD and do it at x0.2 speed, when it would be easy to let people chose a folder on an HD!

so is anyone having more success than me with that program?
