hey folks,

i got this software ... its from gdata and they tell the customers that ist very easy to copy dvds with it ... with fit to dvd technology (recompressing) and many other functions..well i tried it and i have massive problems with it :

when i try to recompress dvds ( i tried matrix and space odysse 2001) it will start properly recompressing...but after 10 hours (my pc is a lame p3 500 mhz) when i look into the target folder where the vobs started growing all are gone ...

all vobs have been dleted ... i just saw it 10 minutes ago while recompressing the matrix ... after having 3.5 gb of VOB files the program davideo ondvd jumped back to the main screen and all vob files have been deleted ...

can anybody tell me whats happening ? is this a copy protection ? or does the program need full CPU power and any disturbancies aren't good and will force it to delete the whole work ?

Hi-

Is this a commercial product? Don't they have a tech support number for their customers? We don't really support commercial products around here (except for the ones for which there is no alternative such as CCE or TMPG). There's plenty of free software and guides on this site for what you want to do.

Well, you might say, but this is supposed to be easy. But it doesn't seem to be turning out that way. So I think you might be better off doing some reading up on what you want to do.

But maybe there's someone here that has used the product and can help out.

i didnt know this was restricted to freeware only ...

sorry for my question ...won't happen again ..

and maybe i should read more of the articles on this site ... they probably wont help me with my problem (with davideo)

Hi-

It's not that the forums are restricted. I apologize if it seemed I was saying that. It's just that most of us haven't used commercial products of the type you're describing. But like I said, maybe there's someone around that can help.

Hi,
I bought that product too! It is a rip-off! It is buggy and it won't work for all DVDs. The whole program is made up of freeware conversion tools that you can find on most Ripping sites. You are better off using the tools and guides right here at Doom9. It seems hard in the beginning but if you follow all the steps you will get good looking movies.;)
