I'm STILL going through the "DVD-9 to DVD-5" guide. Gave up on SWEPII (shite film anyway!!) and now trying on Monsters Inc. With regards to CCE settings. Bitrateviewer shows that the Picture Structure is "Frame" however the DCT type is "Field". Should I check "Progressive Frames"? Also the Scan type is "ZigZag", should I check "ZigZag scanning order"? Finally the frame type is shown as interlaced but when I viewed the film in DVD2AVI I saw no horizontal black lines, so according to the "DVD2AVI" guide the frames are actually progressive. Which one is correct and does it have an effect on what the CCE settings dhould be? Thanks.

I did this disc when it came out and as I recall it's completely progressive. So set the progressive flag and zigzag scan order. Most of these 100% computer generated films are encoded as 100% progressive, including ATOC actually.
As for what the settings do, the good news is if you mess them up it probably won't ruin the encode (well, depending on how picky you are). From my limited testing the progressive flag only affected the movie when pausing the film, causing combing (the interlaced lines) when the wrong setting was used. Perhaps this varies with DVD players, such as progressive scan players, but I noticed no errors or image degradation while playing when I used the wrong setting. Scan order is even more forgiving, if you select the wrong setting it just makes the encoder less efficient.
