When some people say WinDVD has better quality than PowerDVD... it looks sharper... etc...

Is it because WinDVD has its own filter as well?? I.e post processing when playing DVD??

Most reviews said that WinDVD player have better quality than PowerDVD, as they prove it by enlarging the image. And WinDVD uses more resources as well. If the quality is the same then where does the 50% increase in resources coming from in WiNDVD??

I have used both players and quality always appeared to be the same when playing svcd's/vcd's---I haven't played dvds though.

I used the PowerDVD and the resulting image is blurry.
I switched to WinDVD this time (both programs are v3 at the time of comparsion) and displite the more hungry WinDVD for resources, the picture quality is noticably better.

Tought, i used a tricks how to archieve that. First at all, a resolution 856x640, defined by PowerStrip (you can uninstall it after this).
This allow me to play movie fullscreen W/O scaling it. (Anamorphic widescreen movie resulting into 853x480 pixels, the 640 pisels at width are necesary for archieving the correct pixel aspect ration on 4/3 monitor screen and the 856 is the closest one resolution, because Windows dont like other resolutions, that cant be fully divided by eight ;) )
Then using a DVDsubber and selecting the noscale option resulting into the best picture, what you can get from DVD.

Haa..... i am sorry, but if somebody checked out the lastest features on WinDVD Plantium...... blows PowerDVd out of the water...... ( Quality = more resources...... not 100% true, but most of the time it is right... )
