I checked the forum and seen this topic covered but havent found a solution to my prob so far. i tried various SVCD DVDrips so far and none worked. i demuxed them and used various SW but none but one accepted the mpg files rejecting them with the following error "Error : Number of fields ( 38 ) in GOP(# 2) or between sequence_header_code should be equal or smaller than 36"
i checked the guides and tried using the dvdpatcher and the mpegsequence maker. still not working.
does that really mean i have to transcode those svcd mpgs? just coze the GOP size aint acceptable for the authoring proggies? geez, they work when burned as SVCDs. now that i burn them onto a DVD-R its all so different? friggin annoying.
btw, the only prog that worked was myDVD which came with my sony dru-500a. but it only fit 2 800+ svcd mpgs onto one 4.7 gb dvd-r.

tried sonic scenarist, reeldvd, dvdit pe

btw, is there a prog that would let me add/change the GOP settings of a svcd mpg in a fast manner?

thanks and any help appreciated.

You really need to reencode them anyway. 480x480 is not a standard DVD resolution and although it will work on some players it is never a good idea to break the standard. Some day you will regret it (like when you get that new model of player and all your classics stop working).

I'd suggest this method. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19779&highlight=jdobbs+svcd+to+dvdr)
