I have recently bought a geforce 4 4200ti card with tv out

im really pleased with the performance of the card but when playing divx files to tv out i notice blocks on flat dark surfaces

is this because of the tv resolution being lower than the monitor?

any help or advice on how to avoid this would be much appreciated

thank you for any response:)

btw they are not noticable on the monitor

Hi,

u could use this in your .avs script the coloryuy2 plugin :

ColorYUY2(Levels="TV->PC")

this will decrease lumi and avoid some macroblocks.

Maybe try using ffdshow & its various options may help. Also dependant upon which codec it is, in the filter properties some options maybe available which may help in reducing the blocks.
