Codec identifier app...

I did a quick search on the forum but found nothing, so I ask:

Is there a program out there that can recognize what codec a perticular AVI uses/needs?

I have a few AVIs where the video is grey, but the audio is fine (and I know there's video there too).

If it's of any interest to any problem-solvers out there, I'm only using DivX502...

Great... Now I know what codec it uses (MP43), and that my computer uses the M$ MPG4 codec to decode. It also say that this should work just fine in most cases, but it doesn't... Now I'll just have to find a solution to my next problem.
