In the past i was able to use mpeg2dec3 with no problems, but now with a fresh OS and software install(could be coincidence) when i load the avs cce closes.
If I run the same avs and change to mpeg2dec2 with CCE it works fine...hmmm
any ideas..I downloaded what i think is the latest mpeg2dec3 release.
basic script...
LoadPlugin("C:\QuickAVS\filters\MPEG2Dec2.dll")
Mpeg2Source("D:\xxxxx\xxx.d2v")
KillAudio()

What version of avisynth are you using? This is usualy problem when you try to use .dll for avisynth 2.0.x with avisynth 2.5 (and vice versa). Check if that is problem or try to open your avs file with VDub or VDubMod to see if everything is OK.

What version of mpeg2dec3.dll do you use. There is 2 versions.
Version beta6 is for AVISynth 2.0.x and 0.92 is for 2.5 only.
Look here for right version

Thats it exactly....duh...i was trying to use the wrong dec3 dll.
This leads me to the next question...can i run both 2.07 and 2.5 on my computer? I see the dec3 dll is bugged when used with 2.0*, also is one version (2.5 or 2.07) faster then the other?

Well, it can't be used at same time 'couse they both have same name. I have them both and just rename the one I want to use back to original name .

yes you can actualy.
1st:install 2.07 and 2.5 in different partitions
2nd and even better.download vd 1.4.11mod for yv25
dont install it in vd's directory.
Set a different dir for your 2.5 avisynth plugins
put avisynth.dll in vdmod directory
Now you can use vd with 2.07 and vdmod with 2.5
thats it
Thanx MATTER for that tip
