Audio related question

First of all: Yes, I tried the search-function. ;)
(Maybe i used the wrong words)

I have some .avi´s her with a LOT of dynamics. I mean: People talking
are !very! quiet, whereas explosions, music etc. blow away my speakers.
Is there any way to tell DVD2SVCD/Besweet, to "equalize" the sound?
I mean: Raise the volume of the low-volume-scenes (maybe logarithmic).

I hope, you understand what i mean;)

that's what Auto-detect azid gain does...if it doesn't work for you try manually changing your db to 6 or 10.

Please try to be more descriptive with your title.
I knew it was audio, but had no idea beyond that.
Maybe audio volume level would have been better.

I fear that mrbass missed the point that gerbo was trying to make. The auto detect by azid will raise all amplitudes by the same factor. It's just a rescaling. From what I read, Gerbo wants to reduce dynamics, by only raising the _lower_ amplitudes. I am aware of how to do this in the besweet subtab in DVD2SVCD, when coming from AC3, but I have no clue if this dynamic range reduction works for AVI as well. Perhaps someone more knowledgable than me can help, or perhaps gerbo now has the right words to search.

I tried to edit the Title, but it only changes in the topic-view,
not in the forum-view. Board-Bug?

@ux-3: You´r right :) I already found the settings for ac3 but none
for the mp3-input coming from the .avi´s. I have now found a workaround,
but thats realy not satisfying. I start DVD2SVCD, telling it that I
want to edit the avisynth-file. When it stops, asking me for edit, I
convert the .mp2 to .wav and use cooledit´s "Dynamics Processing"-feature.
Afterwards I convert back to mp2, make my entries to the avisynth-file
and allow DVD2SVCD to continue.

Thats a way, but it´s not a "nice" way.

I hope, somebody knows a way of automatizing this :rolleyes:
