Hi,
as you may already know, Adaptec released new ASPI drivers for Win98/ME/NT/2000/XP on 10/29/02 at
http://download.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspi_v472a2.exe. But you'll also quickly notice that these drivers won't work with DVD2SVCD and others (namely VCDEasy/CDRDAO) in W2K/XP if you are using an IDE DVD-ROM/CD-Writer.
However, this can easily be fixed by adding a registry value. You need to create a REG_MULTI_SZ (this is important, not REG_SZ!)value named "ExcludeMiniports" (without the quotes) in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Aspi32\Parameters (create the Parameters subkey if it isn't there). You must not enter any value data, just create the value and leave it blank. Reboot and DVD2SVCD should no longer hang/crash when you click on the disk button on the Conversion tab.
