Calculation problem w/ RoBa.

I d/led 1.10 b1a and tried encoding w/ RoBa. I got twice the same result. CCE failed w/ the "..._init_failed" window. I'm guesing the average bitrate of -132 has to do something w/ it... :rolleyes:

Looking at the log, I'm guessing what happens w/ RoBa is an iteration is done too see how many CD's would give the best results. I think this iteration has a bug in it. My log in 500k big end in the end, 1196 is the number of CDs "needed".

It could be caused onyly by the length of the source, or a combination of that and my (aggressize?) encoding settings I guess...

What now?

I may need to mention: in 1.09 (the version that had the RoBa method) that had never happened to me. But I didn't try to encode *this* movie with that version.

If you dont like it then leave, no one is making you stay here. Also if you read around you'd know that we have the two sections seperate for a reason, if you dont like it i suggest you start your own forum and set it up the way you like.

Another thing the robo method is very unstable and is pretty much use at your own risk. Someone might have the answer for you but i dont use that method so i can't offer any insight. Maybe someone else can but i warn you dont think you are going to post a rude comment back to me as i wont tolerate it.

Ok if you really want a strike I gave you one and will keep giving them to you until you understand that the moderator team is here to make sure the board runs smoothly. Some think we are too tough while other believe we are not tough enough. This seems to tell me we got it right.

Basic Section is to contain ALL problem reports regardless of how Advanced the problem.
Also all how to questions and the like.

Advanced is more for in depth theoretical and testing discussions not really questions.
It is also where are beta and RC discussions happen.
If you notice more then 90% of all posts go into the Basic section.

And Man if you are upset by a post being moved how easily you are bothered.

Anyway if you did a search on Robshot you may have found a thread called Help!!! in the advanced forum where on a sidenote to the main topic Bach and DVD2SVCD discuss this method and the problems there are with it in regards to DVD2SVCD. I didn't pay too much attention to it honestly so I don't know much about it. Also there is a sticky in the Advanced forum about Robshot as well. I don't know if any of that info might help you, but I just want to make you aware of it.

If anyone around here can help then Bach is your man, but he doesn't frequent quite as much as he used to.

KitKat- Sounds like you're pretty frustrated and I can certainly identify with that, about the fourth consecutive time a rip fails on me, you should hear these walls ring! But life is the same for all of us here in the forum, you break posting protocol and there are consequences. What I saw here was you giving a cold shot, then Chainsaw and Mark dishing out a little punishment, then both of them turning around and offering help. This is gentlemanly conduct by anybody's standards. An anal retentive bully doesn't knock you down then pick you back up and ask if you're all right. He kicks you again.

@ KitKat, you have anti noise on and with a setting of 12, please set it to off and give it one more try.

I have a possible speed update for the roba mnethod. I am not sure if this will work but heh it might be worth a shot.

What the program should do:

1. use 1 pass mode in CCE to dertairmine the ammount of cds used.
2. run multipass so it can use this ammount of cds to the fullest.

But my proposel is that insted in part 1 of encoding the whole movie again why not use a wee avisynth script to only send every second frame to the encoder? Then take the size and multiply it by two. This would 2x the speed of the first pass.

P.S. Having a strange bug with the bin files. Mailed you to your bug e-mail address but have downloaded the latest dvd2svcd version to see if it works.
