I have encountered an error when importing the AC3 file into DVD Maestro. Before the import completes, the error message "Cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data might be corrupted (0xc1070042)" is generated and the importing terminates with no asset imported. The AC3 file was generated using DVD2AVI.
Next I demuxed the AC3 stream using Smartripper. The delay listed in the resulting AC3 file name was zero but delay listed in the AC3 file generated by DVD2AVI was 680ms.
The AC3 file generated by Smartripper was accepted by DVD Maestro with no error and worked fine for one DVD (The Sum Of All Fears). When I used the same technique for another DVD (Black Hawk Down) the result was video and audio streams slightly out of sync during the last few minutes of the movie (completely in sync for the majority of the movie).
Any help and/or ideas on what causes the initial error with the DVD2AVI generated AC3 file would be greatly appreciated. Also alternate techniques would be welcome.
Regards,
RM
