I have had a nightmare time trying to cut time by converting a VOB to MPEG (instead of using VERY slow FlaskMPEG or ReMpeg). Everytime I try the 120 minute VOB file will only get converted to a 53 minute MPEG file, or so it shows on the timer, yet the file size is 4gb. Does MPEG have a maximum file size of 4gb too (as well as AVI) ? It is really annoying, the task is so simple but seems to not work. What I do is DVD Decrypt the DVD to 1 VOB file, then I use Hero Video Convert to convert the VOB to MPEG. Although I can play the finished 4gb MPEG the timer only shows a maximum time of 53 minutes, when it should be 120 minutes, if I try to move the dial to the end of the movie, it just freezes and crashes (all video players I have tried). Any ideas why this is ? It just seems such a simple task converting a VOB to MPG, I just wish it worked. I use NTFS by the way, if curious.
