I've tried a few times now and i just can't seem to figure out what i'm doing wrong. Every time I re-encode the video stream it ends up being longer then the orginal stream and the audio slowly goes out of sinc. I am ripping NTSC DVD's if it makes a difference. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
It would help if you let us know what you were encoding with (tools, encoding suites), and what you were trying to encode to, and what you actually ended up with.
Example: "Hi! I'm encoding DivX 5 with Gordian Knot, and I'm getting undersized files. I'm trying to create 1.4 GB encodings, and none are bigger than 900 MB. Any suggestions?"
If you'd done something like that, I would be able to point you to this sticky thread in the DivX 5 encoding forum (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24584).
And, the tools and codecs used will help us figure out what's going on with your audio, too.

The Tools I am using are as follows.
I Rip the VOB's with Smart Ripper V2.41
After I rip the VOB's I use DV2AVI V1.77.3 to make a project the demuxes the audio and gived me a *.dv2 file for the video.
I have tried two methods of encoding the video
1. CCE 2.5 with all the settings that are listed in the guides then I use Pulldown to finish it off.
2. I use TMPGEnc 2.59 Plus. I use settings that I have seen in another guide (http://www.digital-forums.com/dvd2dvdr/part3.htm) This does the pulldown while encoding.
The problem is after encoding the the files is longer in time then when I started, so the audio slowly goes out of sync.
