Pb when encodin "Time Machine"

Hi all.

I'm getting a probleme when encoding "Time Machine". I have encode many SVCD whitout major problems, but here the sound and the picture was desynch from about 5 minutes !!!

In fact, before the credit, at the begining of the film, i'm getting a chapter of the films, with the sound of the credits. After this chapter, i'm getting the real credits,but with the sound of the beginning of the film ! And when the film is really beginnig, i'm getting the sound à the next chapter :(

I've tried with 1.0.9b3 (or 4, I don't remember), and with the 1.1.0 b1a ...

Can some-one help me for looking at the prob ?

also i did ripp time machine and it worked with out a problem, but i'll know more after you post your log file if there is any obvious problems.

What ripper are you using to ripp the vob files?

I'm using DVDBACKUP for linux ...

But it working fine ... I have always encode many film with this ripper ...

I just come to look on the .vob files, and found the strang chapter at the begining of the first vob fle ... (Using DVD2AVI for looiking at)

Ok let me put it to you straight. We dont support other rippers besides the ones that come with dvd2svcd, if those fail we sometimes will suggest using smartripper but anyways if you dont ripp with the rippers that come with dvd2svcd then your starting off on the wrong foot. You can try to re ripp those vob files with dvd2svcd's internal ripper or vstrip other then that please dont post problems when you dont use the tools in the package. This forum section is all about dvd2svcd and the tools that come with it and your not using those tools so keep that in mind.

As Chainsaw said we don't support other rippers and this is not because we are jealous. It comes from hard data that other rippers cause far more problems then the included rippers.

For instance 9/10 times SmartRipper works fine.
4/10 times DVDdecrpyter works fine.
Others are not used as often so no real data is known on these.
This data is from reports I have seen from users and not really scientific.

However even a 10% known failure rate is too high for us to recomend using it. However sometimes SmartRipper can do things that the included rippers cannot and in that case there is little alternative.


Lastly it is also known that copying VOB files across a network causes issues as well. I really can't explain why, but it does. Just incase you are copying from a Linux to a Windows box.
