Guys, please help!
I’ve upgraded my computer from P3/800 to AMD XP 2G while using the same hard drive.
Since then each time I’m running DVD2SVCD with TMPGEnc encoder I receive the following error message on each of the
TMP execution:
“CPU setting has been reset to default because CPU might be different from last time, or new command has been supported”.

I’ve completely uninstalled both DVD2SVCD and TMPGEnc, cleaned the registry and any other trace and pointer and reinstalled them again.
Nothing helps; this annoying message keeps coming.
Tried various versions of TMPGEnc, no remedy as well.

Can somebody help?

Check that _none_ of the files in the tmpgenc folder is read-only. If there is then tmpgenc can't update it's settings file to reflect the new CPU values.

You’re right!
The files in TMP directory were tagged as “read only”.
Changed them to “archive” and it works fine.
Many thanks.

Just surfing to glean some wisdom and wondered if this could be a generalisable rule: like maybe lots of problems are caused by files being changed to Read-Only -- 'Cos I know it happens when transporting files via CDROM to work -- I try to save and they've changed for some reason to Read-Only.
Is there any way I wonder to batchly, or automatically change the properties of all files in a given location (from folder to HD) to unselect the Read-Only property.
Just a thought.
