I noticed Saving Private Ryan has both a 6ch and a 2ch stream. Is the 6ch considered surround sound, or is surround included with the 2ch?
How big is the difference (subjectively) between the 6ch and the 2ch audio versions? Is the difference very obvious and dramatic, or something only audiophiles would notice?
This would assume you have a 5 speaker setup, which I don't, I only have 2. But I probably will get a 5 speaker someday, so I'm wondering if I should downsample the 6ch stream or just keep the 2ch. This is in an effort to backup my disk onto DVD-R so space is an important factor.
