Hi All,
started using DVD2SVCD (great prog!), but have a few questions. I read Mij's guide (from the link from DVD2SVCD's homepage) and followed all steps.
Works fine, but only thing is, I get rather small MPV files. Just now ripped Band Of Brothers and the MPV is only 2,1GB (180MB audio). Did The Story Of Us too, which produced a 3,5G MPV file (263MB audio and Ali G Indahouse, which produced a 2,8GB MPV (240MB audio). I want it to be around 4,2 GB.
All settings are done right I guess(Bitrate tab):
Max: 8500
Min:300
Min Average: unchecked
Average:4500
Warn me if total bitrate too high: unchecked
CD Size: 4225
Use: 1 (all)
What am I doing wrong?

Depends on the duration of your movies, please post them also.

1st please 1 ? is enough in your title. To be technical this is a violation of rule 9. Your title has been edited.
I just did a quick calc based on my knowledge that most Band of Brother Eps are around 65 minutes long.
If you are talking about making 1 episode that large then you Avg bitrate wants to be about 8670 with 224 audio.
With an AVG bitrate of 4500 I get a file size of 2250mb's with 224 audio.
More information is needed to find a definate reason and proper settings.

Oh sorry, didn't know about the "?". Won't happen again.
But about the average bitrate...doesn't DVD2SVCD calculate this automatically? At least, that's why I like the program so much. Everything automated.
At first I did this with DVD Decrypter, IfoEdit, DVD-R Calculator, ReMpeg, but DVD2SVCD suits me more. Just putting in a DVD and go to bed.
Or do I have to calculate and enter the bitrate manually every time?

I fear that there might be an error in my bitrate calculations when using sizes out of the ordinar (that is different than the default values). I will look into the matter.

Yes you are corect that DVD2SVCD does calculate the bitrates on it's own, but within boudaries and these are the settings at the bottom of the bitrate tab.
If your MAX is set to 2530(default) then nothing you can do will make DVD2SVCD go above that number for the MAX bitrate.
The same can be said for the rest of the numbers.
So make sure your MAX AVG (limitor for the AVG) is above any potential AVG bitrate.
In this case though making a video with a bitrate as high as you could will end up trying to make it higher then the DVD. Most DVD's don't go much above 5000kbit for AVG.
Try messing with those bottom bitrate settings on a chapter to get a feel for it.
