Known bugs:
- the fast presets can produce mp3s with a higher bitrate than the non fast presets (will be fixed in the next release)
- history.html lists "3.93alpha" instead of "3.93"

We will release a new beta version soon, it will contain a high amount of code changes. If you just want to have good MP3s, you should stay with this release for a while, the upcoming beta version if for testers only.

In the name of the LAME development team I wish you much fun with this release.

Greetings,
Alexander Leidinger.

if anyone still feel like experimenting, you should know that latest beta of BeSweet had been tested succesfuly with 3.93.

edit :
i'm naturally talking about the uncommon switches that needed a special dll build for BeSweet and now working with the official build :
-x --scale --noath --athlower --noshort --lowpass --athshort --athtype -Y --nspsytune --nssafejoint --ns-bass --ns-alto --ns-treble

and more...

we have a new preset (not created by Dibrom, but based on APS):
--preset medium

I believe the status of the --preset (formerly --alt-preset)s is that there isn't much change in 3.93, but it is not yet thoroughly tested. Last I read, the "fast" versions of the presets were having some troubles, but perhaps these have been fixed in 3.93...testing and time will tell....i'm very looking forward to 3.94 and --nspsytune2

The problem with "fast standard" is related to bitrate only: The bitrate can be too high.
