Ok I and encoding with CCE 2.5 Scooby as a test to make it to fit the entire disc
IT has Four audio streams and three Subpicture files,
so far I had no trouble until I enter the part or Authoring a new DVD
IF I add more than 2 Audio Streams, IFOEdit report and erro
"too many frames" check the image below, I am using WinXP, Ifoedit 0.95, vobedit 0.6 and dvd2avi176 VFAPI 1.04 with CCE 2.5 SP.

you have to add screenshots as attachments. Quite obviously using the img tag for a file that resides on your pc doesn't work.. there's no c:\temp\ifo3-error.bmp on 99.9% of the forum visitor's computers.
But.. I think I know what's going on. Basically your total bitrate is too high.. IfoEdit just has a weird way of telling you that. If you tried to mux that m2v and all the audio streams Scenarist would most likely tell you that you've crossed the 10.8mbit boundary and then abort. That's the problem with free file remuxing... when you use ReMpeg and to a certain amount also TMPG you know that your output will have a lower bitrate at all points, with CCE (or TMPG without using the TMPG template) you cannot be sure of that and hence keeping all audio and subtitle streams could possibly cause problems. Now that IfoEdit supports authoring a lot of people without previous authoring experience are trying this out and fall over the must common problem that people who already know authoring programs know by heart. If you tried to encode the movie again with a lower bitrate I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get the same problem.

Thanks for the Advice, I am using around 3000 kbps, it depends on what the calculator advice you and your common sence guides you also, is that to high (using CCE), with Rempeg and using the remuxing not the Authoring part, I did not have any problems but the quality sucks. So that is why I have to swich to something better, (I guess) and yes this is the attachment file

the average bitrate is rather high.. I usually get away with 2.2 - 2.5 mbit using the Robshot method. Anyway, the average bitrate isn't so important, what's more important are bitrate peaks. Most likely around the point where you get the error message you have a peak in the m2v (what was the max bitrate you used by the way?) and that's causing these errors.

according to the guides the min = 0 and max = 9.8 Mb
And why it would be, related to the MAX bitrate.

try to set the max to 9mbit... that's what I always do and I have a lot less bitrate overflow problems to begin with. Why could it be related to max bitrate? Because I've been getting the same kind of errors during the beta test phase and when I started taking audio streams away the problems would go away. Hence it's only natural to assume that we have a bitrate problem. So far the error messages IfoEdit spits out are not really useful for the end user, only for Derrow so it won't tell you the actual reason why something goes wrong but that's just something we have to live with for now.
Anyway.. if you want to make sure, load your ecl again, go the advanced settings in CCE and go to the positon where the muxing aborts..write down the bitrate at this point, add the bitrate of every audio stream to that and most likely you'll be in the region of 10.8mbit.

I see were you want to go, thanks, again for the tip.
and also the audio is getting before the video, I have tried using ACeDelay.exe to adjust it, cause Derrows apps is still with the problems of not accepting negavite numbers greaters than -39 or so.
In the advance Options of CCE I see the detail and it tell me the amount of time the original and the encode will have (related to time). Do you have any Idea what to use instead.

Hi,
I'm having exactly the same problem when authoring with IFOEdit. I've set up CCE to multipass VBR. I've put 3300 as average bitrate and 7500 as max bitrate, so I don't think I'm over the DVD bitrate constraints.
Here is a summary of my experience:
When IFO edit starts muxing, it says the bitrate of my video stream is 9800 (I don't understand why, because I put 7500 in CCE).
If I mux video plus 1 track of 5.1 AC3 audio, it works well, no errors.
If I mux video, no audio, plus 1 subpicture stream (subtitle ripped with VOBEdit) it gives me the Too Many Frames dropped error.
This is what seems strange to me... Bitrate overhead for subpicture should be less than audio. Maybe there is something wrong with the subtitles?
Best regards,
xvrbx

Well, I did this early today and I am still having problems, do not know if it is something wrong with the process of creating the Pseudo Avi file, I Use VFAPI 1.04 as the converter, any Idea????
Also I did with another movie, to see if I had any changes, but even got worst. only one audio and one subtitle.
very confusing

How about IfoEdit 0.96b ?
I am having the same "Too many frame drops" problem when using the Author feature in combination with subtitles on some DVD titles.
In case the movie + audio files + subs are small enough to fit on one disk you can use the IFOEdit 'VOB extras' way to mux the files correctly. But remuxing with another M2V video file has not been very succesfull for me. (Audio synch problems).
Short before IfoEdit went dead a beta version 0.96b was released. It's a long shot, but has anyone tested this in that version yet? I'd love to test myself but I can't find the version anwhere.

The same error I've got, even I've tried to change the Avg. birate to 4000 as recommanded by the birate calculator, and tested the single pass vbr (CCE), it gave me the same error message.

Just change the Avg. Birate from 4000 to 3500 Drops still there. Change from 3500 to 3000, drops still there too! Now i tried to reduce it to 2.5 and when i come back to home, I'll try it again.
Any Help (M2V File + AC3 File, + 2 Subs + Celltimes.txt).

aaz i think doom wanted you to change the max bitrate not the avg.
changing the avg. has nothing to do with the peak!

OK, thanks.
But what is the method we should use to set the max birate?
I've tried lower than 9800 and still having frams drops.

never had any problems but im not adding subs and other audios
its been a problem(also with maestro to i think)
its been addressed alot on the furums im not sure if its spelled out how to fix it, other than to lower max bits(peak)
some set theres to 8 and it fixes it?

The error only occurs with subtitles on certain titles... it really has nothing to do with the bitrate of the video file. Believe me i've tired everything. It's probably a bug and seems to have something to do with multiple VOBid's.
Using the IFOEdit 'VOB Extras' (using the remux if video is altered) feature gives a good result most of the times. It's just a long workaround once you are used to the 'DVD Author' feature.
But can anyone help me to get my hands on version 0.96b? Just sent it to Q.denHaan@chello.nl... thanks!
