Freezing during playback of DVD-R`s

I am using infoedit 095 and rempeg 1.5.2
I use the same method for all my DVD backups.
I strip full backup with smartripper.
Use infoEdit 095 to rip movie only.
Use rempeg to shrink dow the size to 4.3
remux with infoedit 095
Burn with nero 5599 on a pioneer A-04 burner with the latest firmware

I`m using a sony DVD player since it reads DVD-RW`s to test.
If it freezes with the -RW it also Freezes with the -R

The Lord of the Rings Extended version 4 disk set works fine
Gladiator, Contact, Beauty and the Beast and Starship Trooper all work

Abyss Ext ver, Terminator SE, Robin Hood (Disney}, Planet of the Apes Org ver all freeze mostley at chapter breaks. Usually 3 or 4 times. It seems to always occur at the end of chapter one.

If I play them on a Daewoo DVD player they do not freeze.

This is driving me nuts. I tried all earlier versions of infoedit with no change. The freezing occurs at the same spot.

Any input would be appreciated.

What type of media are you using? I've had the same problem from time to time when using the cheap stuff. I also had some luck changing the settings from DMA to PIO on the IDE. I also changed to Prassi to burn. Haven't had a problem since, but I'll soon know more after I get a new shipment of cheap (69 cent)dvd-r!

I use meritline media.
The key here is that I write and do a verification with nero so bad media is eliminated.
