I'm trying out several methods of transcoding vob files to fit them onto a DVD-5.
I prepare the vobs with DVD Decryptor, VOBrator, and IfoEdit as described in Doom9.org > DVD and miniDVD Guides > Encoding guides > IfoEdit guides > Basic Guide.
The vobs work when watching them off the HD in PowerDVD xp, they contain only the video stream + one audio stream, no menus, extras etc...
The problem is, I can't seem to figure out how to prep the vob files to load them into TMPGEnc.
In the guide, Step 5: Transcode the video stream, there is a link to DVD encoding in TMPG where it says to load the DVD2AVI (.d2v) project file as video source.
There is no link or instruction to indicate how to create the d2v project, so I looked for the DVD2AVI guide and followed those instructions. I Created a d2v project, and tried to load it into TMPGEnc, I had to view all files to load it as *.d2v was not on the list of default acceptable media sources.
On trying to load it anyway, I get an error message (File "path_to_file" can not open, or unsupported).
So my questions are,
Does TMPGEnc have the ability to load d2v projects?
If so am I creating the wrong type of d2v file?
Or should I just not bother with this and try a different / better method of transcoding?
THanks, any help would be appreciated
