I get tv programs from america in avi format (divx5, mp3 cbr). I used to just choose the avi input in dvd2svcd and let it work. I do not convert NTSC to PAL since my tv and dvd player support both formats. It worked great up until a few weeks ago.

Now I get video only encodes. I get no error messages during the audio portion of the encode but I have noticed that the besweet conversion runs really slow (almost an hour for 40 minutes). I end up with an encoded mp2 file which has no sound. I have manually extracted the audio from the avi and successfully encoded a working mp2 file from the same audio stream that doesn't seem to work in dvd2svcd. When I encode the .avi using TMPGenc 2.58 both the sound and video work...can someone help? If I had some hair left it would surely be falling out now.

I should add that my source has not changed. I have compared the avi's that did work with the avi's that don't using Gspot and can't find a difference. I have also tried encoding using 3 different pc's. DVD encoding works flawlessly.

Thanks for any help and thanks for such a great program.

Post both you DVD2SVCD_Log.txt file and the Besweet log.

You may want to search on the forum and find a neat little program called avicodec. Run it and make sure you have all the proper codecs installed. Sounds like you do since most times DVD2SVCD won't even work unless you do.

You may want to completely un-install and re-install DVD2SVCD. If you haven't upgraded to the recently released 1.10.1 and 1.10.1a(must be used in concert with the 1.10.1 bundle) then I suggest you do so.

remove "-r 29970 29971" from your commandline and run again.

this sounds pretty much like my problem. I don't have the large numbers in ota, it is set to zero. Did Jasbo solve it?

no, i haven't been able to solve it but i work around it by extracting the audio from the avi using virtualdub and encoding it separately using besweet (with gui) while CCE encodes the video. I then just rename my encoded mp2 to Encoded_audio_1.mp2 and drop it back into the appropriate folder. Dvd2svcd just continues on as it normally would muxing my mp2 with the encoded video.

that is what is so strange about the problem. when i encode the audio separately using besweetgui it works without a hitch...

this problem "solved itself" with the introduction of version 1.1.2 build 1
