View Full Version : File Extension MPV rather than M2V

I wonder if anyone can help me. I use DVD2SVCD / CCE 2.5 regularly with great results. The only problem is that the encoded video file extension is MPV, rather than M2V as required by most DVD authoring programs (including IFOEdit). DVD2SVCD guides suggest it should be M2V.
Any suggestions how I can change this? Thanks in anticipation.

Did you see the little 'search'-button at top of this page?
Try to use it wir 'mp2' and 'mpv' and you will find this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36468&highlight=m2v+mpv) link.
Don't post a question again before doing a search before.

Dear mean bastards.
I did read the threads and none of them answer the question of why my output files are MPV when most other peoples are M2V. I have been renaming them by hand for ages, and am having great results, but its a pain in the arse to have to do it every time if there is a simple fix I can do.
P.S. I've tried all sorts of ways of duplicating DVD's and I've come back to my old friends DVD2SVCD/CCE as I have yet to find anything else which can do the ripping/encoding in one go. Its a simple matter to use ChapterXtracter and the new version of IFOEdit to finish the job off. - You may be a set of mean bastards but you have put together a great program.

hi!
If its such a pain, you can easy create a program, thats called MPV2M2V (just kidding).
make a batch file, in which you write the only line "ren *.mpv *.m2v".
put the bat file in the folder of your mpvīs and double click it.

..or place this batchfile in a folder and chose in finalize-tab to execute it after every conversion.
P.S.
Dear mean bastards

Thanks for the advice guys. I never thought of using the finalize tab. Keep up the good work.
