Ok

i have one film with 4 subtitle stream the first two are normal subtitles the second two are subtitles displayed forced if you don't use any "normal" subtitle.

Italian normal
English normal
Italian forced (information about time, date and location)
English forced (information about time, date and location)

The forced subtitle are very important for the film because they offer information about location, date and time of the day...

Do you know if is possible when you don't select any subtitle stream display automatically the forced subtitle ?

Example:
If i select Italian language (for audio) and i select italian subtitle ===>> forced display of italian subs is automatically DISABLED

If i select Italian language (for audio) and i don't select italian subtitle ===>> forced display of italian subs is automatically ENABLED

Sorry for my bad english :(

I hope all clear :)
And i hope than exist one solution to my problem.

if this work, but you can try it. (My english are also very bad...) ;)

I think you must first select the right language for every stream (Italien for example), then you must edit the forced subtitles (rightclick) and must check the "forced" chechbox, but I'm not sure if the forced subtitles now correctly displayed.
Try it and reply the result here.

Forced subtitles are displayed when "forced display" is checked on a subtitle.
The easiest way to do what you want is to have the needed subtitle stream selected but disabled.
For example, if you have Italian Forced subs on track 3, then the command on the "Subtitles Off" menu button must be: Set Subtitle To: 3 [off]; this will only play subtitles marked as "forced" on given subtitle track. It doesn't even have to be separate subtitle track.

---
If there are more "forced" subtitles on other tracks then you're gonna have to play with storage of SPRM1 and SPRM2 to GPRM.. and compare against to set options you want. I find it best to use SetSTN(GP0), this sets subtitle stream to whatever current audio stream is ... is like "Set subtitle to: 3 [off]" but it can be 2, 0 or 19 .. the same idea, just more "forced" subtitle tracks, and you don't have to overcomplicate stuff, when you can use gprm right.. Wouldn't hurt to check page 14-21, 14-22 of Spruce DVDMaestro manual for reference.

I've got a question: is there a way to tick "Forced Display" box while importing .son subtitles?

Changing "Display_start non_forced" to "Display_start forced" does nothing, subs still getting imported as non_forced.

Is there any way to avoid suffering from manually checking multiple individual subtitles and enabling "Forced Display"?

Thanks in advance
