This isn't a scientific observation and this is over my head but just wanted to see if anyone notices IVTC being detected more often than 1.0.9b3. I've had a couple of movies...and just today I tried to backup up my copy of lotr fellowship extended bought at costco (free two towers movie ticket included) and sure enough it detects IVTC when it should be force film OFF. I'm really just fishing cuz I'm 99% sure nothing has changed code wise and dvd2avi is the same old version.

1st edit: Ok now that I thought about it..it's probably has to do with the 20 minutes of credits on the 2nd dvd.

2nd edit: alright I'm almost positive it's the black screen with a little white (credits) that causes it...dvd2avi detected force film off on dvd1.

how do I know...well just guessing (anyway I encoded a test chapter and it looks totally normal to me with force film off)...It's a regular NTSC film like most Hollywood films. Not anime, cartoon or whatever. Way back when force film off used to be the default then it switch to automatic. I betcha if I unchecked the last chapter (credits) it wouldn't detect it as such but I think over 92% or 91% is the threshold of dvd2avi in determining what type of film it is.

edit oops: everywhere I said "Force film off" I meant "Force film on".

I as well have noticed IVTC detected on all 3 encodes with 1.1.0 b1a... and rarely ever in previous versions. I guess I should go back to an older version to see if it detects it on the same movie...
