I use dvd2svcd with CCE 2.5 and I-author. Whenever mux runs, a dialog box always comes up at some point of the mux stating that an out of synch a/v sequece qas found and I can sto process of mux at any time. It is most likely due to maximum bitrates being too high. Thats waht it syas but I have max bitrate down at 2400 and audio at 192.
Why does that happen? Thanks

I-author is very picky...I can't remember off my head what the actual top bitrate for i-author is but try going a little lower.

If you don't need I-Author for a specific reason try VCDXBuild. It's much more forgiving. I do XSVCD's at 5000Kbit and 224 Audio without a problem. I-Author would choke on that.

I had trouble with Xbuild making coasters at one time. I think I will give it another shot. I have also had some trouble with a/v not being in synch all of the time and maybe this is also an issue related to I-Author. It looks very professional and maybe there is an update for it, I dont know. But I am going to try xbuild again.
BTW, my standalone piece of @#$% Sanyo DV-370 only supports up to 2500 so there is a big limitation on it and even at 2450-2500 max bitrate it will still pixelize occasionally. It was highly recommended over at the vcdhelp forum, but there has got to be better nowadays.

I suggest picking up a Pioneer DV-250 for $98 over at your local walmart.
