Advantages using ivtc in tmpg?

i read the guide to ivtc in tmpeg, but i am still confused about what would be an advantage to ivtc....if you could give me examples, that would be great.....thnx in advance.... :confused:

If your movie is not Film, then IVTC would probably help a lot. It removes the interlace lines and converts it to 23.976FPS. Which is less frames to encode. Thus improving the quality for the same bitrate.
