I'm getting more and more into the advanced DVD production stuff, starting off with buying ReelDVD. Now that I have "after hours" access to a studio with Scenarist, it got me to wondering. Is there a way to use 24bit/96khz audio with a video in Scenarist? I know ReelDVD won't support that, but I figured that maybe Scenarist could. Neither I nor the studio I have access to have DVD-audio software or an advanced DTS encoder, wish I did but I don't have that kind of money. $1200 for ReelDVD was a hard thing to swallow as is!

My projects generally are filming local bands and producing simple, but effective live video dvd's. Some of the shows are short enough that I could encode the stereo audio track and reasonable quality video and fit it to one disc. One of the jazz act's is my Uncle's band and they're damned good. So a 24bit/96khz recording really does make it worth the effort if it is possible. I appreciate anyone's help. I just wish it didn't cost $10k to do DVD-audio or $30k to do high end video's.

Scenarist supports 48KHz and 96KHz PCM audio at 16-, 20-, and 24-bit resolutions. Only 1 and 2 channels are supported. For more than two channels, AC-3 or multi-channel MPEG2 audio is supported. (Scenarist II Release Notes, v1.5, page 3)

In case anyone wondered, I found the answer. Looks like I'll be able to do my project after all :) Just do the prelim work in ReelDVD and bring all the assets into Scenarist and finally add the audio. I hope it works.
