Hi all,
Does anyone know whether TMPgenc Plus upsamples raw YUV colorspace data internally to RGB24 before encoding the MPEG2 stream?
Reason I ask is I've been capturing 720x480 NTSC .AVI with Huffyuv, in my capture card's native YUV colorspace. I want to ensure that TMPGEnc does not internally resample this YUV data to RGB in order to preserve best possible quality on my final MPEG2 movie.
I believe MPEG2 is in 4:2:0 YUV format. This should mean an intermediary RGB24 resampling is not necessary, but I know many programs do this (CCE for one) for internal, unexplained reasons.
