I just downloaded the new version of VDub in hopes of being able to open a DV AVI captured from my miniDV using Adobe Premiere. Unfortunately I still get the same error message:

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

So where can I find a VFW DV codec?

This codec will allow you to decode DV AVI's in VDub. If you encode to DV with this demo version you will get a watermark.

Read the sticky thread called "Links". You'll find a bunch of DV codecs there.
