hey there,

since getting a dvdwriter, I've had no problems putting cvd titles and svcd titles from old regular cds, and new encodes to dvd-r.

However, thats only seems to be hassle free in pal, if I want to take an old movie I have on 2+ regular cds. What I would do is to read the mpeg file over for the cvd file, then use tmpgenc in its tools section to merge the 2 cvd files together, then demux them, to go into SpruceUp later. It's at the joining process that I've noticed the problems.

All the PAL titles I've joined seemed to have joined perfectly. However, every NTSC disc I've tried to join (initially made in dvd2svcd), using tmpgenc tools, it would appear to have joined fine, however (and initially didn't notice till after burnt dvd-r but its from joining stage), when I play the joined mpg file off HD as soon as it gets close to the join portion the sound just clicks and jumps way out, by about a minute I'd say.

I've tried several joins in NTSC and all the same too, which I find odd, as I'd have thought, if anything, with pal being less common then US NTSC, that the PAL would be a problem rather than that.

Does anybody know of a solution, or some alternative software to join svcd/cvd ntsc files??? I tried AVI RM MPEG Joiner, but it seems to not support the files as gives me an error loading them.

thanks in advance,
Tuck

hello. i'm having the exact same problem. after the merge (using TMPGenc plus) the 2nd and 3rd files (if it's 3 svcd's) are way off on the sound. anyone have any suggestions?
everything else from doom9's svcd>dvd-r guide works perfectly
thanks for any tips
