View Full Version : Ogg audio problems.

I hope this is the appropriate forum as my problem is primarily an audio one.

I have an .avi with DivX video and ogg audio.

I am trying to convert it to a vcd or svcd.

I've tried graphedit using the tutorials found elsewhere on this forum. This gave me an avi with desynched audio so I tried a different method.

I then split the audio and video streams and tried to mux back with tmpeg. That left the audio still out of sync.

The problem with graphedit was that the audio was out of sync so I tried full interleaving as other forum posters have suggested but that didn't work.

I edited the first 1.504 seconds of audio out of the wav and reencoded. That was fine at the start but by the end it was 1.5 seconds out!

There was a couple of other things I've tried but I forget now :-(

Finally I came across Suriyc's Ogg tools. I even found VirtualDubOGM which I thought would solve my problems. Sadly it didn't.

If I open the avi in VirtualDubOGM it appears to be fine, i.e it loads the file. If I do file information it shows the video statistics but shows as having no audio stream! which it clearly does have.

If I then try to open the file with "popup extended open options" I get the error message "couldn't locate decompressor for format (some garbage characters)" and it flunks.

Using OGMInfo I get the following

D:\>OGMInfo.exe Phoenix.Nights.1x02.divx-plution.ogm
OGMInfo v1.3b2 - an Ogg Media file structure utility

Process finished!

Can anyone offer me any pointers as to anything I may be obviously missing here?

I've tried so many things I really am struggling to think what to do next (apart from give up!)

Hey, I even waited my 5 days to post here ;-)

Thanks.
