View Full Version : A call for opinion | Scenarist and MCF

Hello everyone. I've come seeking advice and opinion about Scenarist.

As you may or may not know, MCF, an AVI replacement format with advanced user features, is nearing a 'stable' alpha status (as stable as an alpha ever is, anyway.) The specs discussion going on with the core developers is entering the wrap-up stages, and it's time for the application porgrammers such as myself to start doing our part.

I've taken responsibility for the first application to author MCF files. I use the term "author" in the sense of Scenarist, and not, say VirtualDub. Hence why I am asking on this forum.

Since my application will be a whole lot like Scenarist in functionality, I want to hear your likes and dislikes with Scenarist (besides its cost. ;) ). So let me hear it. Interface quibbles. Missing functionality, or behaviors you don't feel are intuitive, etc. Anything you can tell me would help.

If I have a question or want clairification with a point, I'll probably just expand this thread a bit.

So please, contribute some user input and help me to make my app better. Thanks.

I just can't believe if you can just make an authoring program for MCF files like Scenarist does for mpeg2.
It would be unbelievable!...
Just unbelievable...
Give just one tenth functionality of Scenarist to it and still I would find it amazing.

Heh. Thanks. That's the goal!

I appreciate the enthusiasm. Anyone else?
