Has anyone ever heard of or tried the codec from XiWave (http://www.xiwave.com)? I'd like to know wether it's really as good as they're writing. The two sample shots on their applications page are really impressive. The features sound good, too. I asked them about the price of that codec a few month ago. They replied:
1) Our software is sold to OEMs and companies who are integrating it into their own software applications, or for example use by ISPs for providing video download services from their servers.
2) A licence for the software development kit including documentation and 12 months support cost 15,000 pounds
3) No additional hardware is required. The encoder application,
utilities and dll plugin for Media Player run on a standard PC.
This price is far too much for me. Is anyone in here who is/was able to encode a sample of a dvd or capture and would post a still of it here?
