My mouse pointer suddenly slows down sometimes - and I can't get it back to its normal speed - even by setting it to the fastest in the mouse properties in control panel. The only way to get it back is to restart my pc. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? Am using MS IntelliExplorer, btw, and never had this kind of problem before.

Try plugging it in to either the USB port or the regular mouse plug, whichever is the opposite of what you are using now. I find the USB works better.

If you haven't already install the software that comes with the mouse. I had problems with it until I installed I did so.

As great as the mouse is it has a very faulty design. I've gone through 3 in 3 years. Random things just always seem to go wrong with it. Good thing is that Microsoft has admitted that they break easy and will send you a replacement with no questions asked. Look on their homepage and you just have to give them some numbers on the bottom of the mouse and they will ship you a new one.
