Ifoedit & CCE Method - chapters

when u using ifoedit and cce metod to backup a dvd u have to edit the ecl file to add the chapter info. or don't u. why is this nessesery. u got the info in the ifo anyway. and is this possible to do after it's encoded. just courious. :)

My understanding is that you need to tell CCE where the chapters are so it will put an I-frame at that location. Random seeking can only re-enter the video stream at an I-Frame as this is the only type that does not rely on other frames for information. If you dont do this what I have seen happen is the video stutter for a few hundred milliseconds while it gets its bearings.

It WILL work without giving CCE a chapter list in my experience but it may cause trouble with more fussy standalones - I have not experienced it.

Does IFOEdit align the chapter points to the nearest I-Frame as per Scenarist or does it allow them to sit on B's and P's? If not then an option to perform this or even forcing this may be a wise move.
