View Full Version : SOLUTION FOR iMPORT PROBLEM IN SCENARIST (RECREATE "VIF" VERY TIMES BEFORE IMPORT)

after 3 winxp reinstalations, i found the problem, happens with me, on import scenarist take 30 minutes to import a mv2, that 2 days before, take 5 minutes... its recreate the information file over and over and over, taking a looong time... the problems is in the file date, yes, belive or not, the file date... i put the system date to 4 years from the file date and te import was normal, i put the actual date, and bum! 30 minutes to import (before was 5 min)
a do this test 20 times... really are this... no doubt.
anyone that have the same problem, please, tell me yours experiences..

The procedure of Scenarist to determine when it has to rebuild the vif file is completely differenent from, what I suspect, the problems your HD is experiencing.
If u haven't altered the video stream in any way the vif file should not be recreated and scenarist ever did not for me. If howevewr u have a disk problem that could lead to a damaged vif that it tries to correct but due to bad sectoring or something it fails and keeps on retrying until it finds a safe place to build one.
Sorry for the lenghty sentence, I thing its understandable.

its not a hd problem, is a problem in scenarist, others users experiences this trouble on import, the file is ok, i doŽnot change anything on file, but the year of pc time causes the file to import / or not import correct... only happens 2 times with me , a do 76 dvds with it at now, and this problem occours on 2 machines, the same problem, the same solution, system date... how you think thas is a dh problem???????????
