Have done all the "hard" work and end:ed up with a downsampled and remuxed Starwars!
The problem is that when I try to run IfoUpdate 0.56 I get the answer that my new authored file has one(1) PGC and the original ifo has ten(10) PGCīs!
So I tryed but canīt even get the movie to start when Updated Ifos!
It HAS to do with the differens of PGCīs !?
So what do I do ?
Ps. Why dont I just go for the movie made?
answer: I do want the compleate movie as a backup......Working! :)
THX in advance, need the help BADLY!!!
btw. I have been trying for 3 weeks to figure this out! :(

Maistrox,
do you have the pal or ntsc version. I own the pal version but I need to be sure before to rip this dvd. Also, do you want to keep the menus or only the movie ?

Please be more specific, do you want the complete movie on one dvd, which subtitles do you keep, do you want to split the film on two dvd's and keep all the subtitles. I will rip mine as soon as I get your answer.

Oki, heres the deal so far.....
I did remove all angels exept the fist (english with ifoedit)
downsampled
Put it all toghether in Maesto keeping Subbs: swedish, english, Finnish, dannish & norwegian! The thing there is that on starwars there is two of each language of subbs, and I keept one of each!
The whaned to proccess the last with IfoUpdate and that was then it said that this one (new authored) had only One(1) PGC & the original had ten(10) PGCīs!
...and have tryed on and of to solve this for more than 2 weeks & still haveīnt solved my problem!
Seem that it all comes down to the differens beetween the two diffrent VTS_01_0.IFO in this case!
As far as I know thereīs nothing about this kind of problem in the doom9 forums! So please anyone that can help, step forward! :)
Thereīs GOT to be a way!
eaven if I/u manualy most edit the VTS_01_0.IFO by hand, but IF so, what program to use? (hope that wont happend;))
Ps. YES all I want to keep exept the above thatīs ripped out!

I don't know Maestro but I used my own DVD of Stars Wars to split it in two dvd's and keep all the audio and subtitles. I don't have the same version as yours (mine includes French version) but result works perfectly.

I assume you had IfoUpdate in Maestro multiPGC mode and made your playlists in Maestro assigning the correct chapters to them???

Yes Of Course! Still seems to be the problem with the ten(10) GPCīs differens compaired to the new *.ifo with only one(1) PGC!
Got to be a way to edit by hand or automatic the PGC differens ?
The same issue stays in both Starwars 1 & 2 so this I got to get helped with, canīt imagine its just theese two, now & in the future, that will have this problem!
when I/u want to downsample a movie & then get it all back together so it vill be a downsampled/complete 1/1 version!
HELP!!!

If you have made your playlists correctly in Maestro, then it is impossible for the newly authored IFO to only have 1 PGC. If I author a disk with 3 playlists Maestro always pops an extra one in making 4 PGC's and ifoUpdate is aware of this and ignores it.:)

Oki, but could you please guide me trough the steps from authored in Maestro to finish so I can check if I missed something ?
Ps. When I try to use Maestro Mode in IfoUpdate I get:
"!ERROR: Only 1 Source PGC found. Canīt use Masetro Mode. ABORTING."
THX in advance!

Rip disk(obviously:) ) Open IfoEdit and ceck the main movie ifo. 1 PGC great continue as normal more than 1, close IfoEdit and open IfoUpdate. Set mode to Maestro multipgc and use it to analyse the main movie ifo. Select file save chapter files and select checkbox for multipgc files. Frameserve with dvd2avi and avisynth or vfapi o whatever you use and reencode the entire vob set with CCE remembering to add the chapter list to the .ecl file created by ifoupdate. When finished open Maestro set project to NTSC/PAL depending on source and import your assets. RIght click in the time line and import the chapter and import the chapter file ifoupdate created. Sometimes if there is a tiny pgc at the end of the timeline the chapter won't be imported so you have to add it manually. Right click movie 1 and select add playlist as many times as you have pgc's. Double click the first playlist. Ifoupdate created a read me file which tells you which chapters are in which pgc add them to the correct playlists. Mux your new vobs, put back in to the dvd structure and correct with ifoUpdate. Voila. If the disk then plays fine on your PC I suggest you use IfoEdit to make a disk image before burning as I tried this with Momento and it wouldn't play on my standalone if I didn't burn from an image.

This is quite easy (the answer, not the process to succeed)
SWep1 has 10 PGC so you need to re create a 10PGC title with your reencoded movie (use CCE is far best than Rempeg2, which I assume you used as you say downsample)
So, you just rip everything on your HD. Then ifoedit and only keep the angle you need (in fact it's just the beginning with the text scroll wich is in french and in english, same for the end credit)
Use maestro or scenarist to do a 10PGC title : here the guide :

For question on that guide, once practiced a bit, go on advance authoring section of the forum.
