NICE JOB DERROW!!! :D

looks like you spoil us now with even a log report -- nice!!! :D

so, as MY first step of the inauguration of the new IfoEdit 0.95 Final version :p, i open up this thread to invite everyone to post their share of infomation about (un)successful reports while working with IfoEdit. i suggest the same format like before (see http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37149):

1. subject/topic:
(eg. dvd-authoring, creating ifos, dvd-player, vob extras, etc.)
2. short description/report of problem or success:
(eg. "chapter import works sometimes," "A/V out of sync," "freezing problem," etc.)
3. name of dvd (incl. region code):
(eg. Gladiator - R1)
4. step by step description of procedure:
(eg. 1. ripped with decrypter, 2. reencoded with reempeg, 3. used ifoedit pre2 to strip xyz, etc.)

i'm excited to see that derrow starts to get his well-earned support (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37442).

ifoedit 0.95 (final) is currently muxing on my machine, and i'm ready to get the best out of this awesome prog :P.

PS: derrow, great job! :cool:

4. step by step description of procedure:
DVD2AVI to create .d2v and strip out the two soundtracks

P.S. Derrow - are you planning on enabling the colour palette to be copied as currently the colours and font are not the best?

1 - Subject:
DVD Authoring - Subtitles
2 - Report of problem:
After following all the steps in the new guide for Authoring with new version of IfoEdit (0.95), it all came good, except for one detail: when I put the burned DVD on my standalone player, the subtitles start at the same time as the film which means they're out of synch with video and audio. In the stream information of the vts_** file, it says that there's a delay of 4403ms, but when authoring in IfoEdit, only Audio has a box to put the delay. Need help here.
3 - Name of DVD:
Planet Of The Apes (R2)
4 - Step By Step:
Followed the new guide for authoring with IfoEdit 0.95 all the way (I think).

1 - Subject:
DVD Authoring: 1 Video 2 Audios 1 Sub & CellTimes - BUFFER UNDERRUN
2 - Report of problem:
When I mux all this stuff I get (in the Log report) three "buffer underrun detected". When I play back the DVD it freezes at the corrisponding points of buffer underrun. I've found that the problem is caused by the subtitles: if I mux everything without Subs I don't get the error and the DVD plays correctly.
3 - Name of DVD:
The Time Machine - R2
4 - Step By Step:
DVD Author - Author new DVD - Video: VTS_01_1.m2v - Audio1: VTS_01_1.82.ac3 (Italian)- Audio2: VTS_01_1.80.ac3 (English) - Subpicture: VTS_01_1.20.sup (English) - Position: CellTimes.txt - Destination: I:\TimeMachine\VIDEO_TS - OK

Any idea why?

Thanks to Derrow anyway: Very nice job indeed! :D

Time Machine R2 is good, cause I have it here on my drive, so I can check this.
Thank you all for the reports.
I'll try to track down the probs.

1. Subject/topic:
dvd-authoring

2. Short description/report of problem or success:
number of chapters is reduced by a few after multiplexing if you browse through the newly created ifo-file

3. Name of dvd (incl. region code):
a.i. artificial intelligence (R1), gladiator (R1) -> i think it's not movie-dependent, though

4. Step by step description of procedure:
1. ripped with decrypter;
2. used vobedit 0.6 to demux audio and subtitle streams;
3. used ifoedit 0.95 to export "celltimes" for chapter numbering;
3. rempeg'ed and got m2v-file;
4. used "dvd author" in ifoedit 0.95 to mux video, audio, subs, and chapters;
=> dvd a.i.: # of chapters in "celltimes.txt" is 34 like in the original, but the NEWLY muxed vts_01_0.ifo has only 29
=> dvd gladiator: # of chapters in "celltimes.txt" is 30, NEWLY muxed vts_01_0.ifo has only 24...

vob extras (multi angle)

2. short description/report of problem or success:

Multi angle stripping is disabled.

3. name of dvd (incl. region code):

Jay and Silen Bob Strike Back (R1)

4. step by step description of procedure:

Vob extras is selected. Remove IIvu/Angle point selected. Unable to select remove angle or to select the angle to retain.

I believe this was broken in 0.94. I forgot to test this in 0.96 Beta 1.

1. subject/topic:

DVD-authoring - subtitles

2. short description/report of problem or success:

When trying to mux video, audio and subtitle i get in the Log report a "Stream20: data will arrive too late. Current SCR : 37297444, stream DTS: 0". Then, in the end it says "Multiplex status: Buffer under-runs detected."
Strange that in the log it appears stream 20, since the subtitle stream is 21 (it's the second subtitle stream, in portuguese language, the first is in english).
When I play back the DVD it only shows correct subtitles in the very begining of the movie

3. Name of dvd (incl. region code):

The Haunting - R2

4. step by step description of procedure:

DVD2AVI to create .d2v and strip out the one soundtrack
Avisynth to wrap the .d2v
CCE'ed the .avs file, following the guide to the letter
Vobedit to extract the subtitle stream (0x21)
Ifoedit to mux them all back together, again following the guide to the letter.

Hi

I'm also getting this "buffer underun" thing.

I'm doing American History X PAL R2 Version.

And this is the error msg I'm getting when trying to multiplex ALL The subs on the DVD (12): http://apollo13.mine.nu/ifoedit095-12s.jpg and when pressed ok ifoedit exits.

This is the error msg I'm getting when trying to multiplex only 4 of them (each language takes up 3 0x2x of some off reason): http://apollo13.mine.nu/ifoedit095.jpg and then get "INTERNAL ERROR: input stream buffer too small. Please inform Derrow" pressed OK and then "Runtime error - abnormal program termination"

It actually goes through when I'm trying with only one subtitle but the subs does't work after the "problems" in the LOG > http://apollo13.mine.nu/ifoedit095-1s.jpg

I ripped the movie with DVD Decryptor (File mode) > DVD2AVI on main movie > avs > cce 5-pass > (all subs demuxed with vobedit 0.6) > dvd author in ifoedit with on 5.1 chan 448 kbit/s audio track, subs and chapterpoints.

I did another movie the other day with subtitles and that one worked just fine so this doesn't happen all the time.

Best Regards and thanks Derrow for this wonderful program: Olle

Howdy, i also have the "buffer underrun" and "stream will arive too late" problems when authoring some titles with ifoedit 0.95, since you can enter the delay for the audio streams, isn't it possible in a future version to enter the delay for the subtitles?

Black Hawk Down R2 has a delay for the subtitles (reported in the text file created by dvd decrypter) and when i try to use the ripped subtitles they stop working in the middle of the movie (viewing the new authored version that had those errors when authoring on ifoedit).

Also i have another question, when a movie has only one subtitle file (one ID like 0x21) it's pretty straithforward, but when for example i have for one language two subtitle id's (like 0x25 for the first part and 0x26 for the second part) how can i use the two ripped subtitle files? should i merge them using a file merging utility? i tried that and it didn't work.

Thanx in advance two whoever answers and thanx to derrow for his work.

hi,

maybe I can help you with that. you should check if the vob id changes. if so you have to demux/split by vob id and author then.

mike

Ok, lemme see, i have an original backup that has indeed 2 VOB-ID's, i demux it spliting it by the vob-id, i get two set of vobs, then i re-encode the video from those two vob set's, i get two m2v files then i extract the audio from the original (AC3) splitting it when the vob-id changes, so that in the end i have two m2v files, two AC3 files and two SUP files.

Reaching that part how could i re-author it using the authoring feature on ifoedit 095?

Sorry for my lameness, and thanx in advance!

:confused: I have a small inconfinious, but I'm not sure if 0.95 is the reason but it started at that time. I use ifoedit to open *.ifo files, but now when I klik a certain ifo ifoedit opens blank and not the selected ifo ?? Any ideas ??

Hey there Hoppy. I am glad to know I'm not the only one having that problem. Just to save bandwidth and multiple postings, do a search first. You would have seen my post on this same topic.

I posted the topic as IFOEDIT - I think?

Hopefully we will get a response soon.

Thanks.

3. name of dvd (incl. region code):
Spiderman - R2

4. step by step description of procedure:
DVDdecrypter Files, dvd2avi-avs-cce for main movie and bonuses, vobedit demux for audio and subs, Scenarist for bonuses.
Scenarist do not want to encode more than the 3 first subtitles (out of 9, no error reported during files generation, but only 3 streams are in the ifo and do not works in any player. All Sub are present in vobs. But i also forget about Manual editing of ifo to add info about missing stream as the 3 stream already present cannot be played, ie IFo are probably corrupted in some way.

So, I go on Idoedit to do vts1 which is one PGC only.

Works if only 7 sub, failed if 8 or 9. The two last subs are pretty big, more than 10 000 bmps... It's small stamps in fr and eng with tons of infos on spiderman. I would really pleased to have this bonus.

Any idea to work around this problem ?

EDITED :

Another prob is original has 40 cells but only 28 chapters (ie some chapters have several cells) and the authored one has 40 chapters which make the ifoupdate stuff impossible.
